A Failed Student

Moving On - Matt Yglesias

This is the thing that bother me about the whole issue of whether the surge has actually worked according to the numbers the administration has provided--any college student in a first year English class gets drilled into their heads to provide sources. I couldn't write a thesis or dissertation without providing evidence and the source of that evidence. Wikipedia pages are constantly tagged if they do not provide adequate sourcing. So why should a general, with a PhD no less, get away without providing sources?

VMA and Bin Laden

Bin Laden the Blogger - Ezra Klein

I suppose I should find it amusing that the blogosphere has gotten so into Bin Laden's latest video. It's like a cadre of teenage girls cooing over Justin Timberlake. Still, Bin Laden lends himself to such mockery as he professed to lower our taxes if we take his path. It's absurd really. But this does make him look good for the Republican presidential ticket if he decided to run. Of course, there's the little matter of needing to be a natural citizen, but I'm sure he could get around that.
